Benjamin Alard, who has travelled the length and breadth of Bach's keyboard works, this year presents us with the complete works of his 6 trio sonatas, alternating with carefully chosen chorales. It's a work that's both intimate - these trios could be played by 3 string instruments in a living room - and virtuosic, because of the difficulty it takes to render such complex music with just 2 hands and 2 feet.
